5 Magical Tricks of Time

5 elements and tricks of time that shape our life

In a Ted Talk, I could capture the idea, “Nothing matters, what is most important, the most important resource in the world “Time”. I often forget that we evolve and journey through time. Actually, one of the most urban historic pieces from the 70s, regarding time, is a song titled Time by Pink Floyd.

Just to quote for bringing a few points in perspective (and for reminiscing million listeners of the song), “ You are my young and life is long, there is time to kill today. And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you, No one told you when to run, You missed the starting gun.” So, it’s a bit of trivia, in our life, how we go on with time. Let me shed some lights in this perspective :

1. Time Hides

Minute: You initially are alert before starting an event, however when the event progresses, you forget the minute counting. For instance, I have to be at someplace, let’s say at office by 9 am. However, as I am greased on the chair with a monitor to “monitor”, I am lost in time. So, Time Hides!

2. Time Deceives

Hour: Well, our events in modern life are mostly bounded by hours. It is a sleepery yet big indicator in every stage of our life. Even your school teacher or your 100 times restarting of exercise routine has at least half an hour in it. So, we are carried away by hours planning with a great chunk of time. So, Time Deceives.

3. Day Break the Clutters

Day: Even before Y2K, we were dependent on Calendar for days. It was crisscrossed and checked. Nowadays, we find the omnipresent marker hard to find. We randomly check calendar mostly on our digital devices. So, now, how we go by with the nature of the day. Let’s say, an exam/presentation is after 5 days. Your planning starts to reduce anxiety. Planning is done. So, it’s an interesting thing that planning days become abstract, more vague than minutes and hours. Most interestingly, we toy with days. Someday manageable, rest whirlwind. However, our work and survival’s most reflective phase is day. We mostly accomplish in a day. So, Day Break the Clutters.

4. Month is a Test of Time and Fruit

Month: The most managed short term time bargaining asset. Days may shake you or not but month is bound to shake you a number of times. It’s just that the probability of impact increases with more time. Also, you are more cautious at the beginning and end of the month. Time sweeps through or gets stuck. However, at the end of the month, it is bound to test you. So, Month is a Test of Time and Fruit.

5. Time Flirts

Year: Now, comes the most mirage element of Time Box, year. You are very alert regarding timing, planning, new habits and what not. It feels like, time is like new found money, job, newborn baby. Let’s give it a rest for a while, a month maybe. It’s all on the same tide. Life goes on, you are again bounded by hours, days, months. We just don’t realize, year is a marking or a milestone, just a vague dream. So, in a year, Time Flirts.

At the end, I can say, it’s pretty incomprehensible to conclude what time plays with our life. I can recall a poem which is titled, “Time you old gypsy man”. However, I feel, time is always young, ever flowing, full of energy, ultimate healing element. Where we are, time plays with its flare. If we are observant about the discussed elements of time, we can partly or in most cases, manage Time.

Happy Time Management in 2023.
